HAPPY MAULIDUR RASUL

Dear Listeners,

Maulidur Rasul, or Maulid An-Nabi (Arabic) is known to be the one of the important Islamic observances every year for Muslims around the world. It is a special day in commemoration of the birthday of Prophet Muhammad S.A.W. that falls on every 12th of Rabi' al-awwal in the Muslim calendar.

Muslims regard Prophet Muhammad S.A.W. as the last, most important prophet in Islam, as he is the Messenger of Allah S.W.T. by being the bearer of Allah's Words, that is the Quran, the Muslims' Holy Book. He is the most influential person in the world for centuries for his exceptional leadership and charisma, which is religiously followed by Muslims through his Hadith (narrations of his words, deeds and actions) that is considered holy and sacred next to the Quran.

The Muslim community in Malaysia and those in most Muslim countries regard this special occasion as an official one-day holiday. As this day approaches and on the day itself, there will be various activities conducted in celebration of this joyous day, including mass Quranic, doa' and zikr recitations, festivals holding performances of nasheed, theatre, and others paying tribute to the stories of Prophet Muhammad S.A.W., charity and food being distributed, forums, lectures and mass gatherings will be held and many more according to cultures in different countries.

We would like to take this opportunity to wish all of our Muslim brothers and sisters a happy celebration of Maulidur Rasul. May this occasion remind us all to acknowledge, cherish and continue our faith and love for the Prophet S.A.W.

NON-STOP NASYID

Dear Listeners,

For those who like listening to Nasyid songs, this is the good news for you! IIUM FM will be playing non-stop Nasyid songs on Friday. This day is very sacred for Muslims.

Friday is sacred for Muslims because,Muslims believe: the prophet Muhammad S.A.W. said: "the best day on which the sun rises is Friday.On it Adam was created,on it he was expelled (from paradise), on it his repentance was accepted, on it he died and on it the Last Hour will take place."

Friday prayers are held on this day. This is one of the most strongly-affirmed duties of Islam, and one of the greatest gatherings of the Muslims. It is the greatest and most obligatory gathering in which they come together, apart from ‘Arafah [a place near Makkah where the pilgrims stand and pray during the Hajj or pilgrimage].

There is a special day in Islam which Allah has singled out for blessings which are not to be found in any other days.

Mahallah Aminah will be organizing one day fund raising campaign which is 1DAY 1STUDENT 1RINGGIT. It is to raise fund among the students through the conduct of enjoyable activities. The details of the day as below:

A noble shaykh, Shaykh Tawfique Chaudhary is well known Islamic Da'ee in the modern Muslim world. He is originally from Bangladesh but resides in Australia. He is a medical doctor in Gold Coast and at the same time is studying in International Islamic University of Madinah.
